How long have you been in the
Change Management Profession?
In the formal sense, I have been an OCM consultant for nearly two years. However, my career over the past 12 years has always involved some role functions and work that aligned very closely to OCM activities – thus my switch into the official role two years ago.
What would you say you enjoy most about OCM so far?
I tend to be more of an introvert by nature, so I think getting more heavily involved in a traditional OCM role has challenged me to practice my influence and leadership skills – which (in my opinion) require a bit more of an extroverted personality. It has made me a more well-rounded professional.
What made you decide to join ACMP Ohio?
I wanted to get involved with a local community of OCM professionals who I can learn from and, through volunteer work, help continue to build an impactful OCM presence here in Ohio!
Could you describe your role as a volunteer for ACMP Ohio?
I work with James and the
Professional Development team to help build ACMP Ohio’s presence in local
colleges and universities. As a recent graduate of OSU’s Masters of Human
Resources Management program, I think it is so important to actively
connect with students interested in OCM work so they can get involved in
the OCM community while they are still in school (since it’s a somewhat
niche focus, it can be challenging as a student to find OCM courses and
opportunities), and begin to build their OCM career.
Tell us a little more about yourself. What do you like to do in your free time?
My husband and I have a 22 month old daughter, so most of our free time revolves around her! We take a music class on Saturdays, enjoy going to Farmer’s Markets and I love to read, cook, paint and once upon a time, exercise!
